Charlie Hunnam finally speaks out about walking away from dream role in 50 Shades of Grey

Imagine landing the role of a life time, and then having to give it away. That’s what happened to Charlie Hunnam when he was cast as Christian Grey in the new adaptation 50 Shades of Grey.

Probably the most heart-wrenching decision he’s ever had to make, the actor has finally spoken out about the gutting moment he was replaced Jamie Dornan on the new hotly anticipated flick.

Speaking at a FOX TCA press conference, he explained it was his decision to leave the production, and that it was ‘pretty heartbreaking.’

But there’s no bitterness: ‘I’m just really excited to see it. I was just really, really invested and wanted to work with Sam [Taylor-Johnson] and play that character. I’m really, really curious.’
