A New Actor (One) Eyed to Play Snake Plisskin in the ‘Escape From New York’ Remake

Hot on the heels of his casting in Guy Ritchie’s Knights of the Roundtable, Charlie Hunnam is reportedly at the top of the list for the Escape From New York remake. The two other names on the shortlist include Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, The Guest) and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Wolf of Wall Street).

I don’t like Hunnam for the role of Snake Plisskin, It just doesn’t sit right with me. I don’t know anything about Dan Stevens but, visually, I don’t think he’s right for the part. Bernthal is the most intriguing name but I still don’t feel he’s got it in him to play the lead in an Escape From New York.

It seems that Silver Pictures has commissioned pre-production artwork featuring Hunnam in Snake’s iconic eye patch.

I personally wish they would leave this one alone, Snake Plisskin…
